Hello Fuquay-Varina!
It’s warming up though here comes the rain. While you’re indoors avoiding the torrential rain, check out this fantastic playlist made up of Wake County musicians, many of whom are in and from Fuquay-Varina! Props to Shane Bullis for putting it together!
Here’s a link hub where you can listen to it on your favorite platform: https://hyperfollow.com/wakecountymusic.

🌳 Parks + Outdoors

Featured Park: Fuquay Mineral Spring Park
  • Fuquay Mineral Spring Park is located at 105 West Spring Street, just down the street from downtown Fuquay.

  • The spring that started all that is Fuquay! This is the spring discovered in 1858 by the Fuquay brothers while working their family’s farmland. The allure of the spring and possible healing powers drew visitors from all over and helped the town grown and earn its spot on the map.

  • Now days, the park has walking paths, picnic tables, lush trees, a Springhouse , of course, and some town offices.

  • Around the December holidays, be sure to check out the lights and globes throughout the park that make it truly magical!

🔍 Local Favorite: One Question, Many Answers

One question to dive deep into Fuquay-Varina answered by the many.

This Week: Sushi

Sushi, good sushi, is one of our favorite culinary choices and an easy default for whenever we’re not sure what we want.

Where is your favorite local place to get sushi?

There are (unfortunately) simply fewer places that serve sushi than those that serve breakfast (see last week’s local favorites) but that does not mean we have to do without! A little bit of travel and you will have all the sushi you could want and you’ll get to explore the towns around us as a bonus. I have not been to all of these places but believe me, we will be making our way around this list soon!

Here is an alphabetical list of local places to get sushi sourced from locals:

Did we miss somewhere? Did we get it wrong? Let us know by responding to this email or DM us on social with your own favorites or if you think somewhere needs more love!

Did You Know? Fuquay-Varina had a long running newspaper called the Independent that was started in 1935 when Fuquay Springs sought out Todd Caldwell to open a newspaper in town.

Till next week!
