Hello Fuquay-Varina!
Disappointing weather for Celebrate Fuquay-Varina Day dampened the experience but the week ahead looks much more seasonable with warm days and cool nights. It’s a quieter week but there still lots of reasons to get out and about! It’s easy to get a leg up on holiday shopping as there are a load of markets with two this week and even more coming in the next few weeks. Check out our breakdown below and follow our socials for day to day ideas.
If you know of anything that should be highlighted or your planning something coming soon or have any major announcements, we’d love to help spread the word!

Getting to Know Fuquay-Varina
As our home, we live, work, play, eat, and drive around Fuquay-Varina but how well do we know it? This is to introduce you to somewhere you’ve never been to or, perhaps, never even heard of and encourage you to get out to it!
♻️🚮This Week: Recycling, Trash, and Leaf Pick-Up 🚮♻️
Fuquay-Varina offers a really robust system for helping us all get rid of what we don’t want around our house!
The town runs on multiple schedules for trash and recycling days, denoted as green and blue.
Recycling is picked up every other Wednesday while trash is picked up either Monday or Friday, depending on your route (color).
You can determine what route you are on and what day to put out your trash and recycling by putting in your address here.
Starting Monday Oct 12 (through February 12), loose leaves will be picked up automatically as part of regular services. Rake them to the curb by Sunday evening and they will be picked up the same week as your recycling. The town uses a vacuum like machine to gather the leaves and pine straws up so keep them in a pile (no bags, bins, etc).
Other yard debris can be scheduled for pick-up by Monday at 5:00 pm for the coming week. You can find the request form here.
You can request pickup of additional large item trash. Most bulky trash appointments are a part of your general trash fee but note that some cost an additional fee. Find the form for each linked below:
Finally, you can always head over to the South Wake Multi-Material Recycling Facility (and Dump) in Apex with an other items.
If you have any other questions feel free to respond and we’ll do our best to connect you with someone who can answer them or check out the town’s Public Works website.
