📝🖋️Who is Fuquay-Varina?🖋️📝

As our home, we live, work, play, eat, and drive around Fuquay-Varina but how well do we know it? This is to introduce you to somewhere you’ve never been to or, perhaps, never even heard of and encourage you to get out to it!

This Week: Nicole Prato

Tell us a bit about yourself, including, how long have you been in Fuquay-Varina, and what first brought you here?

My husband and I moved here in June of 2022 from NJ. He was pursuing a new job opportunity so we figured, why not! I was selling real estate in New Jersey before we moved and immediately got my license in North Carolina. We now have 2 children, with another one on the way, and we've met some really great people.

What’s one local place, event, or activity you think deserves more love?

I think the FV Growers Market has a lot of potential! There are great vendors; I hope to see it expand in the coming years.

If you had a free afternoon in Fuquay-Varina, how would you spend it?

I would get a cappuccino at The Mill, in a real mug, and then head to Pass It On thrift store!

What’s something about Fuquay-Varina you didn’t fully appreciate at first - but do now?

The parks and playgrounds in Fuquay are really great! We first moved here as just a married couple, but now having 2 toddlers, I really appreciate the newer playgrounds, especially the ones with bathrooms! 😁

What would you tell someone who just moved here last month?

Depending on where they moved from, I would tell them to give it some time. Fuquay is still growing and changing, with a lot more coming in the next few years. It can feel frustrating to live in a constant construction zone, but I feel confident it will pay off.

Sunset through the woods (from Town of Fuquay-Varina).

FV Trivia Answer: Louis Mann Wade built Fuquay’s original Fuquay Springs Theater and, then, when it burned two he built two more!

Till next week!
