Hello Fuquay-Varina!
Well, once again we prove we’re human but it was quite the long weekend! Yesterday, the Rotary Clubs of Fuquay-Varina hosted their annual Flags for Heroes which will remain on display at 7925 Purfoy Road until Flag Day (June 14).
You may be dodging thunderstorms all week but there is still loads going on and we have some ideas of what to do to dodge the rain below!

🚶‍➡️ Around Town

Teen Art Exhibit
  • The Fuquay-Varina Arts Center is featuring the art work of local teenagers in its lobby. It will blow your mind how talented they are (or at least it blew my mind!).

  • A cool way to get out of the sun for a bit and support local talent. The exhibit will run through July 3.

Water Restrictions Are Still in Place
  • Keep being careful of water usage! As of Tuesday, May 26, the town’s water restrictions remain in place and will remain until officially lifted.

The Arts Center and Parks and Recreation departments are moving to a new registration system called RecTrac. ⛈️☔Getting to Know Fuquay-Varina☔⛈️

As our home (or home away from home), we life, work, play, eat, and drive around Fuquay-Varina but how well do we know it? This feature is to introduce you to somewhere you’ve never been to or, perhaps, never even heard of and encourage you to get out to it!

This Week: Get Out of the Rain!

It may be the unofficial first week of summer but someone needs to tell the weather! With thunderstorms possible (probable?) all week, it’s time to look indoors for some fun, whether its with the kids or a quieter time with the grownups.

In no particular order,

McWally’s is a day trip in and of itself. It has an arcade, 20 bowling lanes, laser tag, an augmented reality play room, and some great space to eat and drink indoors (and outdoors but not so much this week). So I’m pretty sure you can find something to do there.

A place for the littler ones, the Playhouse has a whole indoor playground and play town for children up to age 7 to explore and expand their imagination. There is even a special section for the littlest ones to play safely and coffee for the parents!

Forget staying dry, forget even staying in this reality! If you really want to change things up, don a VR-headset and enter whatever world you want. All that plus racing, golf, team sports, and a party room (a Hoppy Tales across the hall).

If the kids need a lot more space and challenge to burn off the energy, head over to Rock Solid Warrior. With its ninja courses, rock walls, open mats, and plenty of challenges, even the most active kids will find what they’re looking for!

If you’re looking for something a little more restful, perhaps couture, or even mature, you can slow down at the following places and they won’t go looking to rush you out:

  • Lucci Blue’s Social Cafe has an excellent selection of wines, hors d’oeuvres, and cocktails, plus cozy tables and couches to lounge upon.

  • Moonlight Liquor Lounge has the vibes, the liquor, the cocktails, (and more couches).

  • If you want less liquor and more cats, check out the Right Meow Cat Cafe.

  • Hoppy Tales offers the option of setting the kids (or partners, just saying) up at Virtu Alley while you enjoy their wide selection of beverages.

FV Trivia Answer: The Chalybeate Springs Company formed in the 1860’s with investors from Wake and Harnett counties.

Till next week!
