Hello Fuquay-Varina!
Summer's not here yet but it sure feels like it is! With temperature spiking to record levels, we’re pretty happy that the Splash Pad is opening up. But don’t wait till Memorial Day to get out and about, there’s still a ton happening around Fuquay-Varina.

🚶➡️ Around Town
Teen Art Exhibit
The Fuquay-Varina Arts Center is featuring the art work of local teenagers in its lobby. It will blow your mind how talented they are (or at least it blew my mind!).
A cool way to get out of the sun for a bit and support local talent. The exhibit will run through July 3.
Water Restrictions Remain in Place
Keep being careful of water usage! As of Sunday, May 17, the town’s water restrictions remain in place and will remain until officially lifted.
Check out the details in the link.

The town is in the middle of launching a massive roadwork campaign (to the tune of $57 MM) to improve and expand our roads and transportation options around town. The down side to this is loads of road work.

☕☕Getting to Know Fuquay-Varina🍵🍵
As our home (or home away from home), we life, work, play, eat, and drive around Fuquay-Varina but how well do we know it? This feature is to introduce you to somewhere you’ve never been to or, perhaps, never even heard of and encourage you to get out to it!
This Week: Guide to F-V’s Coffee
Coffee. If you know, you know. I, for one, or we, for two, are not much use prior to a cup of coffee (or three). One of my favorite quirks of Fuquay-Varina is how many incredible places there are to get coffee! And while some of them are so close you would think they would have a problem, they end up complementing each other instead! So if you love the bean based brew, the vibe of a cool coffee shop, or you’re just curious - read on!
In no particular order,
Downtown Fuquay boasts multiple coffee shops but there is only one artisanal bakery and that’s Stick Boy. Biscuits, croissants, cookies, breads, and pastries I didn’t even know existed are the options to partner with your coffee.
Where Stick Boy serves the early crowd, The Mill is open late. Find amazing coffee and local craft beers at the Mill along with weekly trivia and plenty of space to work, play, or just hang out.
If you’re looking for fresh coffee, Cultivate roasts its own coffee, in house, at each location. You’ll be hard press (get it?) to find a more recently roasted cup of coffee! Pair it with ice cream and loads of space, indoors and outdoors and its a winner.
A relative newcomer, Lucci emphasizes a sophisticated laid back feel with lounge couches, exposed brick, and a lovely outdoor patio (with a wine window!). Not only does it have great coffee, it is also an amazing wine bar, has excellent cocktails, and a full menu of sandwiches and finger foods.
Born out of a genuine passion for coffee, this wife-husband team serves coffee from a classic 1964 Shasta camper on Saturday’s and Sunday’s. This is less a work spot as a destination to seek out.
While other coffee shows pair the brew with other brews, distilled spirits, and fermented grapes, Right Meow pairs it with felines! You need a reservation but grab a spot for some cuddle time where proceeds go to finding cats a home.

In Memoriam (but hopefully not)
