Hello Fuquay-Varina!
Spring is here in all its glory and so is spring break but don’t spend all the time inside! There are plenty of reasons to get out and about! See our list of ideas for places to take guests from out of town or jump into the cross-town egg hunt at town parks!

Looking for a challenge? Check out the Egg Scavenger Hunt
From March 19 through April 2, Fuquay-Varina’s Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources is hosting a egg hunt across ten of the town’s parks. Get details here. You can fill out a sheet to track your finds and color in the eggs for a prize!
Traffic Congestion
In this spring weather, much needed road projects are in full swing. Of course, the flip side of this is congested roads and longer travels times. Fuquay-Varina has a website that breaks down ongoing road work, traffic projects, and future plans to manage congestion, with an interactive map. It won’t alleviate merge time but it helps to know.

🚸Guests from Out of Town
It’s Spring and it’s Easter weekend and loads of people have family in town. Stuck on ideas of where to go, what to do, and how to convince them to move to Fuquay-Varina with you? Here’s our ideas for taking guests around town:
If the weather’s nice:
Downtown Fuquay: Meander through downtown Fuquay making stops along the way. There loads of options for shopping, food, coffee, and treats. End up in the shade of Mineral Springs Park.
Downtown Varina: Or wander around downtown Varina with its own collection of shopping, food, coffee, and treats! You can end up on either end of town relaxing at either Aviator Hanger bar or Mason Bar Brewery.
For those of age and of the persuasion, book the Brewquay Prowler for a tour of local breweries!
If the weather stinks:
Check out Quaint Plaza in Varina and the newly opened Virtu Alley gaming lounge!
Bring the family to McWally’s for bowling, laser tag, a full arcade, and some most excellent grub.
El Cantarita is situated in the middle of Fuquay and provides awesome Mexican food, great tequila, and a short walk to anywhere downtown.
If you’re looking for a more relaxed, sophisticated place to hang, try out Lucci Blue’s and its collection of wines and cocktails. Then head to one of Fuquay-Varia’s galleries for an afternoon of art and exploration: Magnolia House and/or Ashley’s Art Gallery.
Did You Know? The name Judd came to Fuquay-Varina when Dr James Mahlon Judd moved to Fuquay-Varina to open a medical practice. He married into the Ballentine family in 1898 and remained here until his passing in 1947.
Till next week!
