Hello Fuquay-Varina!
Spring is finally, officially here! With the caution that March is very much acting like March. Always check the weather before you head out! Still, the weather is improving and its time to get out and about!
This coming Saturday, there’s the Town Easter Egg Hunt (open to all) and, after, head to downtown and meet local businesses in the Candy Hop! Our family loves events like these and its great to get to know the town!
Send us your pictures of our lovely town and we’ll feature at least on in each issue!

Scam Alert

In its excellent, weekly email, the Town is advising of ongoing scams that claim to be the town Planning Department. It is emphasized that the Town will NOT asking for payment or sensitive information in unexpected emails or phone calls. If you receive unexpected notes or otherwise suspicious messages, reach out to the town Planning Department.

Traffic Congestion

If you’ve just about anywhere around Fuquay-Varina or the surrounding towns, then you know what traffic has been like. Fuquay-Varina has a website that breaks down ongoing road work, traffic projects, and future plans to manage congestion, with an interactive map. It won’t alleviate merge time but it helps.

🚸A Morning out with Little Ones

As the days grow longer and warmer, everyone wants to get out and about and that includes the kids. But where to go? Not everywhere or everyone welcomes the nuttiness that kids can bring. Here’s to a day out with the little ones that will entertain young and old.

Start your day with breakfast (and coffee!) at Eggs Up Grill, delicious food in a relaxed, kid friendly setting.

Afterward, head to Piney Town Playhouse for a fun filled indoor play session. Kids can explore little cottages, themed stations, dress up areas, and even a jungle gym! There’s also a low stimulation space for quieter play.

For lunch, grab sandwiches from Deli on Main Street and enjoy a picnic at Falcon Park. With swings, a sandbox, playgrounds, and a picnic shelter, it’s perfect for little ones to run and play.

Enjoy a beautiful, fun-filled day in Fuquay-Varina!

Did You Know? William Joseph (Mr. Joe) and Lizzie Barham, his wife, were major investors in early Fuquay, helping to start the Ballentine Service Station, the Ballentine Drug Store, and Proctor and Barbour, among many others!

Till next week!
