🌳 Parks + Outdoors
Featured Park: Falcon Park
Just off E. Academy you’ll find my son’s favorite park that contains a sand lot, baseball fields, picnic shelter, and a pretty amazing playground!
Falcon Park is located at 105 Falcon Drive.
One of Fuquay-Varina’s oldest parks it hosts plenty of town baseball, has space to rent, and, of course, is open for loads of play.
It also happens to be the starting point for the Martin Luther King Jr celebration parade on Monday, Jan 19.

🔍 Who is Fuquay-Varina?
Five questions with someone who helps make Fuquay-Varina what it is today.
This week:
Tell us a bit about yourself, including, how long have you been in Fuquay-Varina, and what first brought you here?
I’m Alyse, co-author of FV Dash, owner of Sunless Society NC, a luxury mobile spray tanning service, and proud wifey and mom of three awesome babes.
I’ve called Fuquay Varina home since November 2020. We moved here from Durham, but we’re originally from New Jersey. We were craving a little more space and that true small town feel, and we thought Fuquay Varina would be the perfect fit.
Five years later, I can confidently say it was absolutely the best decision we could’ve made. 💛
What’s one local place, event, or activity you think deserves more love?
Lucci Blues! I’m obsessed. The food is amazing, the drinks are on point, the staff is awesome, and the vibe is so good. Fuquay needs more places like this.
If you had a free afternoon in Fuquay-Varina, how would you spend it?
My ideal free afternoon in Fuquay would start with lunch at Mason Jar Tavern, then taking the kids to one of our awesome parks or, if the weather’s yucky, heading to McWallys for bowling, laser tag, and the arcade.
After that, we’d have our babysitter take the kids and head out for a light dinner and drinks at Lucci Blues (like I said… obsessed). Then we’d end the night with a couple of drinks at Moonlight or Oaklyn Springs.
Fuquay really does have the perfect mix of family fun and grown up vibes.
What’s something about Fuquay-Varina you didn’t fully appreciate at first - but do now?
When we first came to Fuquay, I didn’t realize there were two downtowns. Each one is unique, with awesome restaurants, little shops, and fun things to do.
Having two vibrant spots for people to gather and hang out is such a special thing and we’re really lucky to have that here.
What would you tell someone who just moved here last month?
Explore the town! There is always something to do, and new people and places are popping up every day. Talk to people! I’ve made some truly awesome friends just by striking up conversations at breweries and restaurants.
You never know what events might be happening that day, so be sure to check us out to see what’s going on around town every week.
Did You Know? The name of Fuquay derives from William Fuquay, a veteran of the Revolutionary War, who settled in the area on 100 acres in 1805.
Till next week!
