Hello Fuquay-Varina!
Yup, this is late this week but, hey, its how you know we’re human!
Spring feels like its on its way (maybe, sorta, eventually)! More and more is happening all around town. Despite some chill, it’s definitely time to get up and explore!
I’m going to shout out to the Wake County Music playlist again because it’s a blast. Here’s the link to pick a platform and get to listening: https://hyperfollow.com/wakecountymusic.
We are working on another edition to come out in the middle of the week with a more comprehensive list of live music, trivia, and food trucks. Let us know what you’d like to see!
We would love to feature local photographers in each edition so send us your pictures! If you’d like to partner with us or advertise on here, please reach out to [email protected]

🚶‍➡️ Around Town

Early Voting Feb 12-28, Primary Election on March 3

Primary elections continue for Federal, State, and County elections. You can vote early through Feb 28 with the main primary taking place on March 3.

The two early voting sites closest to Fuquay-Varina are at the Hilltop Needmore Town Park and the W.E. Hunt Recreation Center (in Holly Springs).

Water Disinfection Process

If you’ve been around for awhile, you’ll know that there’s a period of time in the spring when the water tastes different. That’s a good thing as its a stated mandated disinfection process designed to clear out sediments and build up in our water.

The process involves suspending use of ammonia from Feb 26 through April 15 and flushing the system. You may notice the water tastes different or even looks different but it remains safe to drink, per those who know more than I!

🔍 If I Had a Daytime Date in Fuquay-Varina

It's not often that we get a whole day to ourselves these days, but we don't have to go far to enjoy it! There are so many options, we'll focus on Varina today, with the goal of as little driving as possible!

This Week: A Walking Date in Varina

Breakfast: Stuf’d Donuts with Bolt. Very new to the Fuquay-Varina scene, if you have not tried Stuf-’d donuts, then I’m telling you that your missing out! Grab some caffeination for the day ahead with Bolt’s tea, coffee, energy drinks, and more options.

Morning: Window shop! Flowers on Broad Street is a good place for a date to head (hint, hint!). There’s also jewelry at Samantha's Jewelry Design, tea at Fuquay Spice and Tea, RC Hobby for any number of interests. (Bonus points if you find records to peruse with Fuq'n Vinyl)

Lunch: Nil's Mediterranean. Eat outside if its nice or inside if its not and grab some Mediterranean treats or fusion (personal favorite is the Pita Pocket Burger) to lunch on.

Afternoon: Mason Jar Lager Co. Grab a pint and enjoy the swings. When the weather is nice there is often music, food trucks, and more going.

Dinner: Lucci Blues. Great food, bite sized and meal sized. We love the charcuterie options! Fantastic wine, excellent cocktails, and plenty of coffee options to keep the conversation going.

Post Dinner/ Evening: Moonlight Liquor Lounge Relax with some incredible cocktails and an excellent selection of whiskey (and everything else). They even have some incredible mocktails and alcohol-less options to help you wile away the evening.

For the record, none of this is sponsored, simply some of our favorite places.

Where would you go?

Did You Know? Ballentine Elementary school was named after Lynton Yates “Stag” Ballentine who was born right in Varina and served as the NC Lieutenant Governor and state senate.

Till next week!
