Hello Fuquay-Varina!
Here we are it may not officially be fall (that’s the 22nd), but school is in session, September starts tomorrow, and Labor Day is fast approaching. So, of course, the weather is scorching! Fall or not watch yourself out there and stay hydrated. And watch those storms, I doubted the predictions on Wednesday and got caught in quite the lightning show!
This is the first week of September which means “First Friday!” Scroll down for more details on this monthly Fuquay-Varina blow out. We’re ramping up into a packed fall so stay tuned!
If you or your organization is planning anything coming soon or have any major announcements, we’d love to work with you to get the word out!
We are also building out our socials so be sure to join us on your favorites!

🚶➡️ Around Town
Labor Day
Quick note that Fuquay-Varina government offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, also known, this year, as Labor Day. Still put your garbage out on Sunday (if you typically do, don’t if you don’t usually put it out on Sunday’s).
Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources
As we head into the fall and new routines, it’s a good time to check out the huge list of programs available through Fuquay-Varina’s Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources. There are loads of programs for anyone, from sports to crafts, martial arts to dance, boards games to knitting, there is something for everyone.
Last Saturday of Grower’s Market
This coming Saturday is the last chance to get your local produce and hang out with local producers and vendors at the Grower’s Market this year!

🤔 Planning Ahead
RecTrac - New Registration System
If you’re looking for programs or activities this fall, you now NEED to set up a RecTrac account as the old system is expiring tomorrow, Tuesday, 9/1.
Open Submission - Fuquay Film Festival
The deadline for submissions to the Fuquay Film Festival is fast approaching on August 15th! The late and final deadline is Sept 15. All appropriate genres are accepted and all film makers are welcome to submit. There is even a specific category for high school and college students so don’t hold back!
Celebrate Fuquay-Varina Festival on October 3
Don’t worry, October is still a ways away (though the Spirit store is now open, just FYI), but it’s never too early to start planning good times. The Celebrate festival does just that, celebrates Fuquay-Varina, it’s the town, our history, our growth, and the people! If you’re interested, there are still sponsor and vendor spots available.
